This is a feature for the second-place winner of the April Poetry Contest. Presenting: The winning poem: Other Noteworthies from @ilyilaice: Selected from @ilyilaice's Favorites:
So I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone in this group for being amazing. NaPo 2020 was the best one we have EVER had in the years I have been running (and participating in) this group. We've done so many new things like the discord, and different activities like Chopped. I've gotten to meet so many new faces, and got closer to old friends. With everything going on right now, NaPo was very much needed for me this year. I can't thank you all enough for being your awesome selves, it kept me going whether you knew it or not. I hope you had as much fun as I did. Please know that I will strive to keep this going in the year(s) to come,
This is something I started in Napo 2017, and we got tons of positive feedback...SO I'm bringing it back again this year. Each week, I will do a big feature showcasing submissions I read that struck me in some way! (Or in this case, a bit of everything from the gallery cause there's just so many good pieces, that I can't possibly pick really). Note: if there's a piece of your own OR someone else's that is submitted for any particular week (minus week 1), you can note the group OR me -- and I'll make sure to include it This is celebration of the wonderful writers who do their best to push through NaPoWriMo. I will try my best to give as much
Hey, everybody! We're back with our second installment of "Best of NaPo 2020". We're well into Week 3, but it's time to reminiscence on all the amazing works submitted to the gallery during Week 2. Again, this is not the full list of poems submitted (there's WAY too many to do that), nor does it mean these are the only good ones. This is just a small snapshot of all the lovely pieces that are floating within the gallery. So if you want to see more, go give the gallery a peek. In the mean time, on to the feature. :la:
Best of NaPo 2020 Week 2:
Please take some time to show these guys some love, or peruse through the gallery. There's a lot of
Hey, everybody! We're back with our third installment of "Best of NaPo 2020". Apologies for the delay, it's been a rather busy few days so I'm now just getting to this one. We're near the end of NaPo, but it's time to reminiscence on all the amazing works submitted to the gallery during Week 3. Again, this is not the full list of poems submitted (there's WAY too many to do that), nor does it mean these are the only good ones. This is just a small snapshot of all the lovely pieces that are floating within the gallery. So if you want to see more, go give the gallery a peek. In the mean time, on to the feature.
Please give these pieces a looks

NaPoWriMo 2020 Feature
I jumped into NaPoWriMo about halfway through the month, and there are just some incredible poets here on dA. I'd like to share some of my favorites with you, and if you have a poem you'd like to share, feel free to drop it in the comments! Check out %NaPoWriMo (https://www.deviantart.com/napowrimo) for more awesome poetry.
Hey everyone, we are back with the second to last edition of Best Of NaPoWriMo 2020! We're past the end of NaPo, but it's time to reminiscence on all the amazing works submitted to the gallery during Week 4. Again, this is not the full list of poems submitted (there's WAY too many to do that), nor does it mean these are the only good ones. This is just a small snapshot of all the lovely pieces that are floating within the gallery. So if you want to see more, go give the gallery a peek. In the mean time, on to the feature.
Please give these pieces a looksie, as they are well worth the read I will be back the Best of NaPo 2020 (overall editi
Hello all! I'm back, one last time, for my "Best Of" series. I like to do a final one after NaPo is over, to showcase my some pieces from the ENTIRE MONTH. This will include pieces that may have been in the other Best Of editions, and some people will be featured more than once in this. It isn't that one deviant has more poems that I like more than others, but I try to scroll each gallery folder and find some gems to share. This may be a longer feature than the previous, so buckle up.
That took FOREVER. I got a wee bit carried away, sorry :lmao: I hope you can browse some of these at your leisure. I WISH I COULD PUT EVERY PIECE HERE BUT --

April Poetry Contest Winners Feature
Before I get started on the feature proper, I just wanted to mention that I'm pushing back my usual Monday PoetryForHumans (https://www.deviantart.com/poetryforhumans) favorite feature until tomorrow. Just in case features are not a viable option come Eclipse, I want that to be the last one I do. What can I say? I'm a sentimental fool. Anyway. Let's get to the main event.
As some of you know, I was a judge for CRLiterature (https://www.deviantart.com/crliterature)'s April Poetry Contest. There were a ton of fantastic submissions. Congrats and thank you to everyone who submitted. Before I feature the winners, I just want to strongly encourage everyone to check out ALL the submissions. Some of my favorites didn't make the top
If you haven't been keeping up with Daily Deviations lately, here's what you've missed! “The tumbley cadence to this poem serves its message very well.” - @JessaMar (suggested by @Rose-Em) “Interesting poem in which the author describes how to be drawn in into the stories and living their own characters.” - @Malintra-Shadowmoon (suggested by @JustACapharnaum) “For such a short piece I find this really evokes emotion in me - sadness, loss, worry but also love - especially knowing a deep abiding love developed over more than 50 years of marriage, something many people will never experience.” - @BGai, Suggester (featured by @Zara-Arletis) “I love the dream-like imagery in this, and the sense of absent love.” - @SingingFlames “This story offers enough detail to engage the reader without overwhelming - which is a marker of both great flash fiction and great science fiction.” - @JessaMar “I love how frank and unusually sweet it is. It's unlike other love poems I've read, and
